Great Food Fast : Bob Warden's Ultimate Pressure Cooker Recipes [Warden, Bob, Stella, Christian] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Great Food Fast : Bob Warden's Ultimate Pressure Cooker Recipes Review: Delicious, easy recipes - Great book, easy to follow with many delicious comfort food recipes. I bought a second copy for my son to have his own. Review: A Great Cook Book for Learning to Use a Pressure Cooker - This book was not written specifically for the Instant Pot which is the specific pressure cooker I have but even though I am a total beginner in using a pressure cooker, this book makes every recipe clear and straightforward. Things I like about it: It has excellent pictures of the result of almost every recipe. Each recipe follows the same pattern. On the left side of each page is the Shopping List. On the right of each page is a clear numbered step by step explanation of what to do next. In the bottom left-hand corner of each recipe page, there is an extra paragraph about something helpful. These are called different things: Play it Safe, Make It a Meal, Make it Faster are three examples. At the back of this book is a very helpful "Cook Times Reference". Each section has the same headings: Type, Size, Liquid, Time, Temp{erature}, Release, Frozen. So, for example, if I wanted to pressure cook sausages, they can be any size, the liquid I use should cover them, the time should be set for 10 minutes, the temperature set high, The release is Quick {this is clearly explained in the book,--I found it helpful to put a paperclip in the page where the different releases are explained-} and if my sausages were frozen, I would add 7 more minutes to my time. The next thing I am going to pressure cook will be a whole chicken. The instructions are for a chicken between 2-3 pounds, I will add 2/3ds of a cup of liquid, set the timer for 8 minutes, and the temperature on high, and release the pressure with the Quick setting. The frozen column says N/A! Some recipes: Tangerine Cheesecake Apple Cranberry Chutney Spiced Rice Pilaf Chicken {Breasts} with Stewed Cherry Tomatoes Tangy Lentil Salad {delicious!} The Best Ever Macaroni and Cheese Tender Poached Salmon I highly recommend this book. Not only am I now feeling very comfortable with my pressure cooker, but all the recipes I have tried so far have been both easy to make and taste good.

It's a favorite on a Facebook page I frequent
I'm enjoying it so far. I debated on this one for awhile. I'm on a number of FB cooking pages where this book is mentioned quite often. There are 65,000 members on this page, so the reviews are mostly favorable, along with some good criticism. There were a few comments that the recipes were too processed, and used too many fake foods. That was my deterrent. BUT, I found that NOT to be true, in my opinion. I saw the use of sugar (which I omit); and Velveeta mentioned only once (in the mac n cheese recipe), which was only a small amount, and can be omitted, or substituted. Other than that, I didn't find any processed ingredients, or any ingredients you certainly couldn't choose to omit or substitute. Many of the people mentioned their favorite recipes and I'm trying to attempt those first. What I really love about this cookbook is the ease of use: 1) The nice large, bold print on white paper; with double spacing - for ease of reading 2) The tabs at the top - like index cards to show the time, temperature and number of servings 3) The great photographs 4) The numbered; double-spaced; and highlighted instructions 5) The Note at the bottom of each recipe The recipes are simple; family-friendly and easy to modify. A few comments on the FB page said they felt the recipes were 'bland' and 'needed something'. Well, if you're a person who loves to cook, you will naturally want to tweak most recipes to your own liking anyway, so that didn't bother me. Many said they took their cookbook to a place like Kinkos or Staples and had the bind cut off and spiral bound. At some point, I would like to do that as I can see I will use this pretty often.

A Fantastic Pressure Cooker Cookbook - Perfect for the Instant Pot - Great for Vegetarians!
This is an absolutely awesome pressure cooker cookbook! While it can be used with any pressure cooker (stovetop or electric), the recipes are written specifically including instructions for electric pressure cookers, meaning that the recipes are incredibly easy to make in my new Instant Pot! ( Instant Pot Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker ) I also love that even though this is not a vegetarian cookbook, there are plenty of great recipes for both vegetarians and vegans - toasted walnut hummus, corn off the cob chowder, and taco dip to name a few just from the first section! (For the taco dip you need to sub vegetarian grounds for the ground beef.) Speaking of that first section, don't let the chapter name, "Soups", throw you off - because that's where you'll find the hummus and taco dip too. :-) Next (again, as a vegetarian with vegan rising), I just skipped the meat and seafood sections and went straight to the pasta (butternut squash risotto!), vegetables & sides ('the best brussels sprouts'!), and dessert sections (ohmygosh, the desserts! Brownies, banana flan, peanut butter cheesecake!). There is also a "lighter" section, which is basically, well, 'lighter' things of all types, including a *lovely* eggplant dip, minestrone soup (not sure why that's not in the 'soup' section) and poached pears (dessert!). Seriously, whether you are new to pressure cooking or an old hand at it, and whether you are vegetarian or vegan, or a carnivore, this is a *fantastic* book! Wonderful, easy to read and follow recipes, for wonderful dishes from your pressure cooker!

I bought this book along with my Instant Pot IP-DUO60 purchase. I have never used a pressure cooker before and I knew I'd need help! Well, I have found it to be a fabulous book! The recipes are wonderfully flavourful and easy to follow. The book is laid out very nicely, there are no "far out" recipes or ingredients, and it is written with a friendly tone that makes you feel as if Mr. Warden is right there chatting with you about cooking. There are great hints and tips for many of the recipes and superb pictures for most of them. Even my husband has enjoyed using this book - he's become an expert at "Best Ever Macaroni and Cheese" and tonight he's going for "Kiss the Cook Baby Back Ribs". My mouth is watering already. Mr. Warden's "Easiest Ever Chicken and Dumplings" wowed my entire family with how good it tasted. "Cheeseburger Macaroni" is another favourite, and his "Chicken Noodle Soup" just nursed my teenage son through the chicken pox - with the other four of us liking it so much I had to make a second batch! Don't miss out on this kind of mealtime joy - just get the book.

Great book, although measurements are in American it's easy to adapt. I've made some really tasty one pot meals. You just bung everything in and in less than 1/2 hour there's a fabulous dinner ready with all the flavours kept in. Delicious!

Excellent book though written for the American market so some ingredients require translation to UK. But generally very good and usable recipes.

I haven't actually tried any of the recipes, but the book makes sense and I think the recipes will work wonderfully. In fairness, I just got the book and haven't yet had time to dive in. There is an excellent recipe for Honey Mustard Corned Beef in there that'll be my debut dish with this cookbook (nothing makes corned beef more succulent and tender than a pressure cooker). The pictures are gorgeous and plentiful and the instructions are clear - all in all, I think this book is an excellent buy and I'm very glad to have it. Later - I did make a brisket piece and disobeyed the timing in the book as I thought it too short. The book was right, I was wrong. I then read more recipes in the book and am eager to try many of them - more than I've read in other Instant Pot books. I really think this is the best IP cookbook I've seen to date, including the ones I've borrowed from my local library.

This book is aimed at the American market but is good, Lot's of typical American faverites, I wil definately try a good few of these recipes espicially the layered Enchilada casserole & Meatloaf, will even have a go at some of the desserts :). It looks like one of my better book choices for pressure cooking.
