Murphy bed construction was a big project.
In December we purchased this Murphy bed which should be described as a construction kit. Four very mechanical adults took 6 hours (24 hours total) on a Friday to construct the bed only to find the tiny wall mounts totally inadequate to mount bed to wall . We spent another $30 on 2@2x6s and wall bolts to attach bed securely to wall so the moving portion of bed did not fall and hurt anyone . Unit has many exposed heads of bolts which will need covered that make bed look cheap . No white caps were provided for them to minimize there appearance which would be expected on a $740 piece of furniture . Bed was wood but was like assembling cheap furniture. In addition the hydraulics are inadequate and allow bed the stay open about 2” at the top.
