Battery Powered Mole Repeller - Pack of 2 These battery-operated molechasers are simple to use, humane for the moles and very effective. Just push the waterproof spike into the ground and switch on. How do they work? Moles are more or less blind, but they compensate by being highly sensitive to vibrations in the ground - which might be a predator borrowing down to attack them. The molechasers create a deep, powerful noise (inaudible to humans) that emulates potential predators, causing moles to vacate the area. When the devices are working, you'll hear a bleeping sound every 30 seconds or so - this is not the noise the moles hear, it's so you can be sure the device is working. What size area do they cover? This depends on the type of ground you've got. Chalky ground transmits noise more effectively than sand, for example. We expect it to cover a circle of 15m (49ft 2½in) around the molechaser 729.29m² (7850ft²). Completely safe and no s are involved. Requires 4 D batteries. One set of batteries should last between 4-6 months. Important information: The units should not be inserted into the mole hills or amongst them, otherwise they will be scattered in all directions. Position the devices between the house and the mole hills so that the moles are driven back the way they came. You may find that in the early stages, molehills appear more frequently and even close to the unit. This indicates that it is beginning to have an effect and the moles are becoming disorientated so don't panic! N.B. Moles are usually driven away within 2-3 days, but please be aware that the process can in rare occasions take up to 6 weeks so please be patient. Product Specification: 38cm (15in) long.
