Okay fellow coffee drinkers. This coffee isn't what I expected. Upon opening the bag, that subtle coffee smell was on point. Kinda reminded be as one of Williams sisters from tennis: lovely, yet ready to turn into a MOAB when ready. I put some grounds in my pour over and watched the coffee being made with anticipation. When it was good to go, I smelt the aroma of the coffee as it neared my mouth. As I had my first sips, it was surprisingly pleasant. Didn't taste as strong as I thought. More smoother and like something I would drink while listening to calm jazz. I finished my cup with a slight disappointment... until a couple hours later. I'm at work getting things done faster than I usually do. I haven't stopped to take a break. As I sit at my desk, I put on my headphones and listen to "To Glory" from Two Steps From Hell as I swiftly demolish my workload for the day. I didn't stop there. I am on a warpath at work! I am working as I never worked before! THE STAMINA I AM FEELING IS NOT MORTAL! WITH THE FEROCITY OF CERBERUS COMBINED WITH THE WILL POWER OF KING LEONIDAS AND THE GRACEFULNESS OF A MINOTAUR, I CAN SAY THIS COFFEE SHALL ASSIST IN CONQUERING THE UNIVERSE!!! ....or at least all the work you need to finish for the day. In short, good, strong coffee. 10/10 would date.

I've been trying out some new bean options lately when I saw Black Insomnia and decided to give it a try. Pretty much all I drink is espresso anymore. My experience is all pretty novice but I like to think I can appreciate a good bean. The roast is on the lighter side which I think is actually a medium roast. The beans aren't oily but still have a mild flavor definitely not bitter. In my opinion the flavor is quite balanced. Lighter roasted coffees have slightly more caffeine. Less roasting tends to preserve the compounds untouched. My understanding is the longer the roast, the more chemical transformation in the beans, including loss of caffeine. Lighter roasted beans are denser, and therefore pack more bean per volume that darker roasts, which are less dense. I think this is a mix of Arabica and Robusta beans but not sure. Robusta is known for high caffeine content. If you're looking for the biggest caffeine punch I recommend a drip coffee with no milk since the milk fats dampen the effects of caffeine. I'm happy with the results from my espresso!

The order came in promptly, although I'm pretty sure the beans were to be vacuum sealed. These were not. There was a small puncture in the bag, rendering the seal worthless. Nevertheless, the beans seemed to grind well and let off a pleasing aroma, although the flavor of the coffee when brewed seemed rather bland and lacking, almost watered down.

I used to really love this coffee, strong and very nice flavor. The latest one is so badly roasted I can literally see pieces of charred beans in it and it just tastes bitter.

There's definitely a lot of caffeine in this coffee, I use an aeropress to make a cup at a time and after one cup of this stuff, it feels like I've had a whole french press. Throw in a shot of espresso and you're ready for whatever the world throws at you. I don't have it every day, because that doesn't seem healthy, but it does the trick in a tricky spot. The taste is very chocolate-y. It's nothing amazingly spectacular, but it tastes nice and gives a nice kick. Solid product.

I’m a nurse so I know my coffee, heck I live on coffee. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical “ world’s strongest” bah...well for the first time in a long time one cup, mind you 16oz, kept me stepping through lunch time. I drink coffee like water all through the day but with this I simply can’t...go figure. That being said, it’s got a mellow flavor with no bitterness, smooth and tasty. The customer service and follow up after purchase lent a nice touch and made me feel they really do care about my business and opinion. Yep, I bought more and yep I told others.

I believe the caffeine levels are overstated. There was not a noticeable difference in the caffeine effects of this coffee compared to any other standard offerings. All in all it was a good cup of coffee. A well rounded medium roast with slight complexity, but it's nothing worth writing home about.. Regardless of the package's statement this is a very hipster coffee. I'd recommend trying it once, for novelty's sake, but I won't be a repeat buyer. At least not for $20 a pound.

Me and my husband are coffee lovers and we have tried a lot of coffee from different brands. Recently we kept on looking for stronger coffee since in the long run we find that our fave coffee is not so strong anymore .And we find this coffee! Really strong and aromatic that makes us feel really boosted! For people who want to kickstart their day, I recommend you this one!

Förvänta dig inte en stark smak, det smakar som vilket annat kaffe som helst. Men det är koffeinet. Ett par minuter efter att du druckit det kommer du känna av det… ordentligt. Skulle inte dricka mer än en kopp om dagen och skulle aldrig ge det till någon som just börjat dricka kaffe.

Soy muy cafetera, tomo normalmente 3 cafés solo por la mañana. Decidí comprar este café por su dosis extra de cafeína (4 veces más cafeína de lo habitual). El resultado ha superado las espectativas. El café recién molido tiene un olor muy agradable y sobretodo me ha sorprendido el sabor, suave pero de buen café. Y lo mejor es que con una sola taza he estado con energía durante todo el día. Volveré a comprar sin duda. Me quedo con este café!
