This is a Excellent radio, I don't think it can be beat ...
This is a Excellent radio, I don't think it can be beat for the price, a digital radio with 19 preset stations, and very easy to use, they kept it very simple to use. Nice large numbers on display, very Nice quality. The Sound Quality is Very good on speaker and Excellent with a Good set of earbuds, or Skull candy earbuds (they are much better than oem but not great quality) from Walmart are a upgrade and cheap. I really like the 90 min timer shutoff, if the radio get left on no big deal it shuts itself off, Auto-magicly, This radios reception is Excellent!!! in both AM and FM frequencies. VERY LONG Battery Life. I like that the FM antenna is a Wire that plugs into the headphone jack, typical metal telescoping antennas are very fragile. This means I can either use the antenna wire supplied or make up a new antenna out of wire and a headphone jack connector or make a Long wire FM antenna, (Note: I have a LOT of Radios) I made a Longer FM antenna wire 50 feet long that goes out the window and on the roof of the house and another 30foot FM antenna for travel or backpacking for better FM reception. For Much better AM reception I have a Tecsun AN-200 AM Loop Antenna, you can make a AM Loop antenna that really brings in the AM stations that are far away and weak. I don't use the supplied pocket clip, But in the mount for the pocket clip on the back of the radio I can very quickly put my kick stand on it. I made the kick stand out of a paper clip and paper clamp, the kickstand is to lean the radio back, so it keeps it at a angle for better listening with the speaker. This really is a Excellent radio

NICE RADIO FOR AM
Good radio for long range on AM band. Nice and thin😅 I have this for camping trips mostly, to put under my pillow to listen at night. It is not going to sound like a boom box obviously with the built-in speaker, and that is to be expected. You can use the headphones with it if you need to. —Yes I would buy again— I am happy that it turns off in 90 minutes to save power after you fall asleep. This is great for emergencies when everything else is down. PAUL TRETIAKOFF in Arizona.

Nice little radio
I recently purchased this radio as a gift for myself.I am mostly happy with it.It is quite small, about the same size as a pack of cigarettes. It takes two AA batteries so it does have some weight to it.It slips easily into a front or back pocket of your jeans/pants.A small removable rigid belt clip was included but I found it useless as it did not swivel.Overall build quality is nice, does not look or feel cheap. I have found reception pretty good.I will try to explain.I had a Sony SRF-M37W Walkman before this radio. The Sony worked OK , I could never get ANY AM stations , just got static. It could get a few FM ( My fav NPR came in so I was happy) I recently changed work locations and the Sony could not get ANY stations in at my new location (10 miles west of previous location) With my new Sangean I can get numerous AM stations in very clear (more than my car radio parked outside)FM is also coming in very clear (just not the one I was really seeking) I walk all around a large building as I use this radio and it holds the station well. The included earbuds wire functions as the antenna for the radio. They also include a separate antenna wire that goes in the headphone jack when you want to use the external speaker...Though I just keep the earbuds plugged in and use those as the antenna when I want to listen to the external speaker. It's very easy to switch between speaker and headphones. The included earbuds are acceptable in quality. As other reviews have noted the bud portion is quite large so they are not the most comfortable. My advice wait till you try them for yourself to see if you need to replace them. The external speaker is a nice feature but sound is not the best. It's not very loud and has a fuzzy sound to it...Again very acceptable and a nice feature to have but it's not going to WOW you with it's sound quality. Battery life is good but if you plan on being a heavy user rechargeable batteries might be helpful. It does shut off after 90 minutes to save battery life. There is way to override that feature explained in the owners manual. It also has a button lock to keep you from accidentally changing stations. My only real quibble is that the radio has a rounded bottom so setting it down to stand on its own is impossible! Overall I am quite happy with my purchase. Note regarding my reception area: I use this product in the Western Suffolk County /South Shore area of Long Island about 45 miles East of NYC.

Good little pocket radio
Sangean DT200, best pocket radio I have owned. Compared to Sony icfk10 or Panasonic rf 2400, the Sangean is digital so you just easily tune to your station. I keep all the features turned off and the volume on low where only I can hear and not distracted others, I strictly use it on speaker so not sure how it works on headphones, I use NIMH AA rechargeable battery, they last me close to a month possibly 3 weeks of daily playing for about 4-6 hours per day, week days no weekends included. Voice clarity is awesome, station is stable. It’s a good buy, still on the higher price point but after buying two Panasonics I got the Sangean and like the clarity and ease of station selection more, I strictly listen to FM . Update 3/11/2026 - The NIMH are ok but they only last about a week now, I have increased usage to about 8 hrs a day nonstop listening while I work, NIMH seems to take 1-2 days to charge properly otherwise they don’t work long, I charge them on a slow charger for better battery life but if I was to recommend I would switch to lithium batteries I feel lithium would hold up to constant usage, but this radio is awesome and crystal clear with excellent reception after a year of constant usage 5 days a week,8 hrs a day.

This is a good basic AM FM personal radio, with most of the features that you would want. I listen to both bands. Reception is better than average for most stations on AM or FM. However, I find that when I'm listening to FM, the stereo fades in and out depending on my location, and in those cases I switch to mono. This is occasionally true, even for some local stations. I especially like the digital tuning capability, and station memory. No need to fiddle around trying to see if you have tuned the station in correctly as is the case with analog tuners. The tuning display is backlit which is very convenient. The sound quality of the built-in speaker is adequate and what you might expect from a speaker of its size. It will not fill a room with sound, but it certainly provides acceptable listening volume. If you pop open the battery door you can use it as a stand for the radio while listening through the built-in speaker. The sound through the headphones is of course dependant on their quality, but I find listening through the headphones supplied by the manufacturer to be good. Other devices may, of course, provide higher quality sound, but in this case the sound is adequate and volume is good. One improvement could be some mechanism or depression built into the housing to facilitate storing earbud headphones when attached. This could be as simple as a clip or strap loop, or perhaps a slot of some sort. The supplied belt clip is functional and I use it often. It is easily removable for those people who do not wish to use it, which is convenient. The unit takes two AA batteries and battery life is very good. I have owned this model for years and have replaced it with the same model once it has worn out. It is relatively durable and I have dropped it in the past without fatal damage, but you should take care to avoid drops due to the plastic housing. It is not waterproof and it should be kept dry. The manufacturer is very experienced in producing radios and this one is a good value for the money.

To be fair, the radio is nice quality built, compact and with well thought out functions. Unfortunately inside of my Camper Bus i have no reception at all and i have to go outside with an antenna plugged in. The product is very nice. The reception ???....... depends on where you are. Could see some benefits with an integrated telescope antenna and a bluetooth connection for the ear plugs.

I chose this for my gost hunting,,,re to make it a voice box, But have found that it is not made for that,, re the modifications that are required to make it such do NOT WORK. there for it is a prefect radio,,,,and not for paranormal work as is recomeneded out there in the internet world.

This is good product from sangean I have ordered it on 24 February, 2015 and exelent delivery on 04 march from USA to Delhi. Very Good delivery and packing was also amazing. But it is not compatiable synchonize with Indian frequency. Espacially AM frquiency is not for India because indian frequency is avaible on 09 Khz step up or down but this unit is design to search AM frequiecny 10Khz step up or down. For example India station vividh bharati medium wave is 1368 Khz i Delhi or nearbly areas. But this unit will not stop on 1368 it will stop on 1370 Khz. But FM frequency is OK. So I want to return it if possible and trying to take regund as this is not suitable for me living in India becuse I bought it for digital reception for AM. Updated : I e-mail to SAngean Technical head, USA. They send me e-mail to set Indian frequency. I follow the steps. Now it is OK and my set is working fine with 09 Khz frequency. Thanks to Sangean to giving solution.
