Product description ------------------- Antonio’s Raw Certified Heather honey is a very popular classic variety and an award winner in the Great Taste Awards. It has a superbly rich and deep flavour. It is mildly bitter but complimented by a balanced sweetness, which is hard to describe as nothing quite compares. It is just simply stunning! This particular honey is brown in colour, showing slightly red in the light. Heather honey tends not to stay runny for long due to a high glucose content. It develops small to medium crystals fairly quickly after harvesting, it is quite rare to get it completely runny. This particular type of heather honey comes from the s Erica Vagans and Erica Cinerea. Heather honey is noted for being one of the best honey varieties you can find. This variety of heather honey comes from the northern ain ranges of Madrid in Spain known as Sierra De Guadarrama. The heather shrub also known as Brezo in Spanish is a small ain hugging evergreen which produces many flowers and loves ic soils. Heather honey is particularly good mixed into Greek yoghurt, poured over ice creams, used as glazes for meats and for adding a unique zing and depth to a dish. This honey is made by the bees of Antonio Simon, a 4th generation beekeeper who takes pride in producing his honey in a traditional way without adding or taking away anything. Antonio's hives are based in the ain ranges north of Madrid. His bee-keeping practices and the land his hives are on have been certified as by the Committee of Agriculture in Madrid.
